The actual mechanics of the game are smooth, and there were no glitches or bugs to speak of within the beta. One thing is for sure, there was no shortage of content available for the beta. On top of the single player modes, you are able to take part in online battles, with up to three players on each side. Throughout the story quests you are able to not only play as the character you customized, but also as iconic characters of the Dragon Ball series, including Krillon and Goku, which adds variety to the entire game. “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is a better version of the original game in the series, and it is quite the nostalgic experience for fangirls and boys alike.” All in all, the variety and customization available is quite impressive. For example, the Human race is equally balanced in offense and defense, whereas the Saiyan race has a more powerful attack, yet a weaker defense.

Throughout the game, and after acquiring some currency, you are able to buy some different outfits as well, which adds to the enjoyability of the game as well, especially if you care about what you look like. There are a large variety of customization features available ranging from different races, to colours of clothing and voice overs. The main story quests offers an opportunity to hone your skills and these missions delved deeper into the storyline than Dragon Ball Xenoverse originally did. The beta shows off a new and improved hub world, Conton City, different quests, and a boss battle alongside five AI characters. With more unlockable characters, and more locations to travel to, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is even more fun than the first Dragon Ball Xenoverse installment. This time travelling journey shows more iconic scenes from the original anime and is similar to the first installment in the series, yet on a grander scale. After events in history have been altered it is your job to correct these changes and to stop enemies from changing it any further. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 takes you on a journey as a time patroller.
